Default So my newest neighbor
next door was born the same year as me just two weeks sooner than me. Very nice single gentleman, and a great neighbor.

He is a Seventh Day Adventist, which means he is a lifelong vegetarian, does not smoke, use drugs, or drink alcohol or coffee.

Let's see if he outlives me.

He does make some very good pies. We invited him to join our family for Thanksgiving dinner last year and he was a wonderful guest and brought a lady friend with him. Of course with Thanksgiving dinner, there is so much to eat that he could just skip the turkey. My wife made a vegetarian gravy for him for the mashed potatoes and dressing.

He also doesn't preach, so he is good company.

When my father was in assisted living he had a gentlemen join thier table for meals. He was a particular eater who got meaner to the staff as the day went on.

When my father asked him why he was so particular and he said "I've never smoked, drank or has relations with any women except my wife and I'm 80 years old."

Dad said "I smoked, drank and screwed more women than you have hair and I'm 87. Now STFU and be nice to the ladies".

The guy died a year before my father.

No, I think he's for real. There's a large SDA community in my county. Many in the medical community are SDA. My wife sees several SDA doctors. Huge church very benevolent in community affairs, too. They run the only homeless shelter in the county funded entirely on donations, among other things.

I wish I could force myself to eat grass but a nice filet mignon with a sweet potato and sauteed onions and mushrooms wins out...
