What was your Mother's "weapon of choice" ?

Local radio station asked what your Mom's weapon of choice for discipline.

My Mom made me give up my own leather belt. Not only did you know you were getting it but you had to give her your own belt.

She would loop it so she held the end next to the buckle. I never got beat but the two pieces of leather coming together made an attention getting SMACK

A “switch” that she made me go cut from a bush in the yard. Of course, the first couple were never adequate and I had to keep going back to find another one. The anticipation was drawn out and so much worse than the actual punishment.

Back in the late 40's-50's the fashion for women's belts was a thin "spaghetti" belt. She loved them.
For us kids we were convinced fashion had nothing to do with her choice. She used it like a surgeon.
She'd snap it in the air like a whip and our butts would pucker in terror! Felt like razor blades of fire
slashing through the air and ripping across our flesh! Our wails of pain would start as soon as her words
of judgment stopped and her fingers went to her tiny buckle...Oh Mama!

When I was a kid mom's choice was a section of Hot wheels track folded in half, if Pops got involved it was a leather belt Didn't want Pops to get involved ever

My mom stands 4' 11" and would wallop us with whatever was at hand... spoon, bare hand, purse strap...
If we still gave grief the "wait until your father gets home" card was played. I only took her up on that offer once: I hit my younger sister a couple times. Pops heard the story, removed his belt and pinned me on the couch striking me indescriminitely while telling me if I ever hit her again he would whip me raw. I never touched her again.

My mom was brutal,hot wheels track alot of the times because I had them all over the house.Leather belt,bare hand but the worse were her slippers.Nevermind that they had rock hard soles I swear she could make them take corners when she threw them at me or my brothers.

Making me wait in my room for my Dad to come home. The waiting was the worst part. Hours of boredom plus knowing that an ass-whoopin' was coming. Then, finally, that sound. The sound of gravel crunching under tires (we had a long, uphill gravel driveway from the street). It would all be over soon, with a belt and some sore butt cheeks.

In fairness to them, I was an unruly ass-hole. Until one Christmas when my paternal grandparents and aunt/uncle pitched in together and got me an Nintendo. My behavior improved radically when Nintendo confiscation replaced spankings as the punishment of choice. My brilliant plan to request a spanking instead probably helped solidify that shift in hindsight.
