I got my usual weird winter sleep.....about 2 hours on, 2 hours off. Oh well, like my old man says....it's better than a kick in the ass with a frozen boot! .....

Time to get the weekend off to a good start.

For us those are in metro DC area ~50 miles north. Downtown are small old buildings as noted. Fahrenheit service is fantastic. Defiantly enhances the experience. Orofino is like an Italian trattoria. It is really. Friendly young staff, mostly from Italy if not all. Chef Danilo is from Sicily I think. He used to work at a high end joint in NYC and wanted to start his own biz. Glad he came here. We made this early in the pandemic when he did a FB live thing. Chicken Milanese. Pounded flat, butterflied, stuffed with ham and cheese, breaded, deep fried, finished in the oven, topped with Milanese sauce.

Danilo is a cool dude. Chatted with him at his joint. I am happy to throw my money at places like this.

Is that zucchini, taters, or both?

I found a holistic Dr. She is a mixture of Eastern and Western medicine. She took Mike off 1/3 of his meds. (He was on 11 prescriptions) lowered the dose on others and changed some. Added supplements. He is a different person. Back to chasing me around the cabin, his memory is normal (for his age) more energy, etc.

We go for walks and hikes, nice days we take off in the Callaway. We stay busy.

I still have bitching to do. Even though she is home she still has to get IV meds for the next ten days. Medicare will not cover the nurse that will come here to give her the IV meds. Tricare typically will not cover what Medicare doesn’t so I am looking at a $1,000 bill ($100/day).

Dixie Bones was relatively close to us in Woodbridge. Pretty damn good. Jaleo is close to my train station but never tried. Don’t eat a lot of Thai food and rarely went to baileys crossroads after I moved from arlington. Sushi is hard to judge. I try to go by whether they carry uni (sea urchin gonads). It doesn’t stay fresh too long, it’s expensive, and doesn’t get ordered a lot I think. If a place carries it, they’re probably legit. Tachibana carries uni and looks like a nice place.
