I think far enough was outing the reporter as he had outed the lawful gun owners.

Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should, and I agree, that works both ways. By outing him it put everyone else that might do this on notice...by outing everyone downstream it then becomes a story we don't need.

NBC was told by the Washington police that it was “not permissible” to show a high-capacity gun magazine on air before Sunday’s “Meet the Press,” according to a statement Wednesday from the cops.
“NBC contacted [the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department] inquiring if they could utilize a high capacity magazine for their segment,” Gwendolyn Crump, a police spokeswoman, said in an email. “NBC was informed that possession of a high capacity magazine is not permissible and their request was denied. This matter is currently being investigated.”

Ok...I'll bite. Criminal charges for what? The information is public knowledge and they filed a FOIA for it. Not sure what crime was commited (since being stupid isn't yet a crime).

That's why we have the permits.

This is only a road map to people who aren't prepared to defend themselves. Even if half the people without permits own guns (and it may well be more than that) those guns are significantly less threat to criminals. Most of them are unloaded and locked away, not riding on their belt as it is with permit holders.

A lot of those people were cops. I'm pretty sure there are laws against publically connecting their names to home addresses. Wasn't there a thread not too long ago about a girl who got busted for doing that on facebook?

In Oregon, gun permits are public information unless you signed the privacy form stating you purchased the firearm for your own personal security, and wish the information to remain confidential.

Watch the video clip and read the articles. They asked if they could use their 30 round magazine and the DC police told them no. He then stated during the hit piece that he was holding a 30 round magazine.

So, as Apex was saying....he either needs to be charged for breaking the law, or explain to his viewers that he was lying.
