My wife's car was read-ended recently (again) and the kid who hit her had State Farm. They had my wife download their app and take pictures. They then said they would pay $1500 to fix the car, and that was using aftermarket parts. My wife said bullshit, took it to our preferred body shop who knows how to do the five-stage paint on this vehicle, and uses new OEM parts, and they said it was $2500. State Farm relented and paid out. Just saying.

Got it back! Looks good as it did before the accident. Initial estimate did go up some, but not a whole lot and the insurance cut us a check for the car seat.

Make sure the body shop aimed your headlights correctly. We hit a deer in my '15 Passat. After getting the car back from the shop, was driving home at night, and couldn't see a damn thing. One light was pointing at the side of the road, and the other was pointing at the international space station.
