I'd guess more than those guys because it's the door AND the front end/fender. I'd guess 8K. I take it the deer was pretty messed up? Did you wait for the cops to clean up the carcass? |

Are we certain it's deer crap, what if that is staged - whatever you do don't submit to a DNA sample

......no that greeny brown splash on the door is pure deer crap. A buddy of mine hit a horse years ago and he ended in a field. Car was a write off and he was lucky to be alive. His car was full of horse crap, and when he staggered out of the car the horses head was beside it.....

Mental note, don't drive a Grand Cherokee in Ohio. They attract deer.

I thought the newest Grand Cherokee's were unibody construction and only the Wrangler was body on frame.

I had nearly the same damage on the front of my truck from a deer. It was around $2900.00. That was years ago so I am going to go with ...

Couldn't find it. I cleaned up my debris and left. I could drive it away, no injuries, no other damage, no use in sticking around and causing a real accident.

I would leave it at the dealer, arrange to have it stolen then demand a new one.

Do you have Gap insurance? With the high costs of inter-related parts and needing full assemblies nowadays, you might be looking at a total. Thank me later since I stayed at Holiday Inn last night.

I'm sure it will go higher once the body shop starts tearing into it.
Good luck with the repair. |

My wife got one yesterday morning too, with our Lincoln MKX. Her damage doesn't appear to be as bad as yours- bumper cover and transmission cooler for sure. I hate those 100 lb+ vermin.

Initial estimate $6238 and then after they start, it gets bumped to $8765
edit-- not too bad of a guess compared to actual quote. |
