I’m featuring a Floyd Domino at my next show. He joined Asleep at the Wheel at age 19. 2 Grammys, Texas Music Hall of Fame, Willie, George, Waylon, Texas Tornados.

That’s a video I found on YouTube. Floyd will be joining us June 19th. I’m really looking forward to that show. Marcia plays with us occasionally too.

This style is my absolute favorite piano playing. I cannot understand how they do it.

My cousin used to play that style, and also that well, in many bands through his earlier years......and he was into Jazz/real music, and would do Jazz inflections of R&R music in his groups.....he moved around from Cleveland to North Little Rock, and was in the Air Force for his 4 years, at the Little Rock base....think it was there, anyway.....only been 1/2 a century.....

It’s sort of rare to find people who can play boogie woogie right. It’s one of my great fantasies to learn how to play it before I croak. Highly unlikely.
