Default Migralex

Has anyone tried this OTC med for headaches? It's a little pricey but if it works I would be willing to go buy it.

I'm a migraine sufferer and had never heard of it. Googling it, the web site looks cheesy...

It's just buffered aspirin. I get aspirin in huge bottles at the dollar store. My favorite OTC med is Advil, and I stick with the name brand, it seems to work better than generics.

I hadn't heard of this either. Thanks for posting this, Ms. Millennium.

I'll have to try it. I've been getting headaches since my accident.

Not on the same level of migraine pain. But Goody Powders are the only thing that helps me. It is the combo of caffeine , aspirin, and acetaminophen. I don't drink coffee or cokes. I think it is the caffeine infusion that helps open up my vessels more than anything.

Caffeine aspirin and acetaminophen are the ingredients in Excedrin, as well as most otc migraine meds. Just an fyi to give you more choices.

OP if it's bad enough, go to the doctor. I was given Sumatriptan (imitrex) and it works wonders, but only for migraines.

Migralex is just asprin buffered with magnesium oxide. I'd say pass.

Still? How long has it been? At what point is a concussion "over?"

In other news, that sucks, and I hope you finally recover fully.

222's from Canada work really well.

That either Tylenol or Aspirin with a touch of coedine mixed in.
Ahh, the perks of living near a liberal country.

Same here.

I found that Excedrin migraine will usually knock down the on set of a bad headache. Unless I am already seeing "whirl pools" or "bright spots", the migraine has progressed too far and then I take my prescription Relpax.

Question for migrane sufferers??

Do you get a visual aura, sort of eyesight thing
Like, because it occurs so dramatically, you can't concentrate on a page until it abates?
That's the best that I can describe it.

About 10 months now.

Quote:

Normally a few days to a few weeks. I'm in the bottom 10 percentile as far as recovery. 95% of the time I'm fine. But I keep having the symptoms flash back so it's just like it was right after the accident. The symptoms are getting very short. They used to go on for days. Now they're mostly over in about twenty minutes.

Thanks, man.

I get "whirl pools", tunnel vision or "bright spots". With the tunnel vision, if I look straight forward I can't see a thing on each side. Scary when driving and I avoid it if I can. The bright spots act as if I looked at a bright light, but obviously, I didn't.

Ya, I get that at work sometimes.
I'll have to pretend that I'm doing something, all the while hoping that it passes quickly. It happens pretty rarely, but it's pretty neat so I just go with it...

Happened to me this morning...No headache or symptoms other than the vision weirdness.I guess it's called an ocular migraine.

Vision looks about like this:

Being completely/permanently blind in my right eye (total blackness), when this happens in my left, it's kind of a problem. It doesn't last long, about 15 mins or so, but still an annoyance, and luckily has not happened to me while driving (yet).

That's called an ocular migrane. You may see a circular bolt of lightning or something like snow on a TV, or pinpoints of light. They can last anywhere from 30-60 minutes, and you're often left with a dull headache and feel lethargic.
