My wife teaches at a local gymnastics place. She has a 5 year old who's a boy but his parents say he's exploring his gender (shit you not)... Kid wears a girls leotard and asks to be called a girls name some weeks. Other he goes as a boy.

Pretty odd.

Unfortunately, some parents are trying so hard to prove their "tolerance", they put ideas in their kid's heads. They give them "thoughtful" nudges on issues that they aren't even thinking about...like gender identity...as a friggin' eight year old. I'm skeptical that an eight year old girl is demanding to be called John...and if she is, it's just because she's trying to imitate her brothers...her playmates.
