My Dad has been a bluegrass picker as long as I've known him. He was in the same band for 35 years. Did festivals all over Texas and the surrounding area. I grew up listening to Jim and Jesse, Bill Monroe, Flat and Scruggs, Stanley Brothers, Mac Wiseman, Don Reno... all those guys.

It really got old.

Here's what they sounded like live, back when they were young and could stay on stage for more than 10 minutes without a bathroom break.

When I was younger I was on a clogging team and went to Blue Grass festivals all the time.

on a side note I use to work for a company that did the security system at Andy Griffith's house he lives south of me, nice house and good looking younger wife but that was years ago.

Grew up in the foothills of the Appalachian Mts. I can appreciate Bluegrass. My dad was a fan. Makes me miss him. Gotta call him tomorrow a play that for him. Thanks Bucky!

Being from Kentucky you would think I would love the stuff. But, I can only handle so much Bluegrass, then my ears start to go numb.

My graduate adviser is a three finger picker. Used to go see him play at the local bars/coffee houses. I enjoy it every once in a while.
