The mileage is a game they play. Yes, you are correct in that the 15k mile tier is a higher cost than 10k mile tier. And if you go over your allotted miles, there is a fee per mile. If you do go over your allotted miles, however, some lease companies will charge you for going over, while some will waive it, if you're trading into a new vehicle/lease.
