Default Rear Brakes 93, What is this piece

I bought AC Delco OEM replacement pads since I dont road race, autocross etc anymore. When I opened the box it had these clips in it. Never seen them I did see where someone posted they put them in. But, my old ones didnt have them.

Can't see it in any parts diagrams I'm finding. I don't remember from my C4 days but it may go in the slot at the top of the caliper for helping to locate the pads?

I couldnt find it either.
I thought the springs on top of pads was what kept the pads in place.

Ah yes those goofy springs on a pivot. Maybe these clips are for a different application that uses the same other parts and so they combined into one SKU.
