I’ve been in CA since 1961. It’s always been like this. Droughts, brush, winds, and lately, plenty of arsonists. ( who I think deserve the death penalty).

Just saw a video of a bunch of Teslas, Mercedes and other fancy cars abandoned on a road blocking firefighters. Firefighters pushing them out of the way with a bulldozer.

Yes! Been going off all day. But nothing seemed to really take off except this one. I only have alerts set up for LA county, Orange County and San Bernardino County, I think.

We got some rain this morning for a few hours. Saw on the cameras that it actually started as snow around 5:00 AM but didn’t stick. And it switched to rain about 6:00 AM. Lasted until about 10:00 AM. I think that played a big part into so few fires.

But if something gets burning strong enough and hot enough, that rain isn’t making a a big difference. Especially with these winds. Rain may have missed the coast over by Pallisades, though. I was actually surprised it rained here for as long as it did.

Yes. I always worry about the animals. So heartbreaking.

When the wind is this bad, you just go. No need to wait for them to tell you. Especially if you have pets and kids to round up. Get a hotel for a few nights. Pray for the best.
