Default Dumb question on a fridge.....

when a top freezer fridge is about 90f all over.....how long does it take to get to cold temps in the bottom section??

seems that our fridge has been running since about noon today, and here it is 830 and still not doing so well.....course it's been off while we cleaned it up for a couple hours this PM say about 2 or so......I would think that 6 hours later the thing would reach temps, and shut down.....

anyone????

Although the freezer portion will get cold in a few hours, it takes the lower part much longer to get cold, usually 24 hours.

Isn't anyone going to thank me for giving Gene the correct advice so he didn't run out and waste money on a new fridge?

Yeh, previous owners knocked out a 4th bedroom, which is now part of the LR, and moved the kitchen into a previous small dining room just behind the garage back wall, when I bought the house the laundry deck was on the main slab and a standard drop to the garage floor....6' of extra space that was not under HVAC, so moved the water heater to the adjacent shed, flipped the washer/drier up against the outside block wall, and built a double door hutch for them, so inside now

the thing that triggered the kitchen renovation was the white glass surface electric range, a real POS, I don't cook except to make coffee....so Linda came on board, she cooking there hiding behind the fridge facing the garage wall....not a very friendly place to be stuck.....so changed to a propane gas range that runs about 4+ months on a BBQ jug.....and we plotted a kitchen reno....stove is out in the middle of the kitchen now, ~8' of bar top and cabinets on either side....and she faces the living/dining area now.....one larger open country kitchen set up now.....
