Curb Stomping---A New 'thing'?

Lately, looking at the news, and researching on the internet, in the past 3-5 years I have noticed a trend. On the ASP (Active Self Protection) the other day on a road rage video, I saw it again. The host calls it 'curb stomping', which is the act of jumping on the person's head or chest and kicking him in the face and neck and ribs when he is down and unconscious. I saw a video of a group of 4 or 5 feral kids around 7 or 8 do it to a white kid on a bike. I saw a large feral teen do it to a small woman teacher. On the ASP video, it was a 6 foot 6 feral in his 20's or 30's against a 68 year old Hispanic man. The man suffered a brain bleed, stroke, and is now permanently paralyzed. The feral got charged with aggravated assault (It's Brockton, MA) so he'll likely get probation or 12 months.
When I was a kid and younger and got into a scrap, you ALWAYS stopped fighting when the other guy went down. Nobody but the Hells Angels 'stomped' people, and when they did, it was usually in a bar fight.
What I am seeing is a specific group of people, from tiny kids to adults, who are so violent in their attacks that they are killing people and permanently disabling them. Most of these attacks are 'sucker punch' type of attacks, where the feral gives a 'tell' by briefly looking away and then comes in to clock the unsuspecting victim. After the victim goes down, the curb stomping begins. Up to now, I have only seen black males do this. Not saying that whites, hispanics, asians, etc. aren't doing it....I just have never seen it. I think it's an increasing trend due to the democrats successful efforts at dividing our country, along with generations of 'victimhood' living with the government reenforcing that mantra, causing a population seething in hatred. Thoughts?

One part of this problem is Hollywood. Over the decades they have progressively escalated violence. Increasing shock value sells.

The other part is drug-related gang violence. Gang A seeks to put Gang B out of the picture, not just for today but forever.

Certain types emulate that. That's due to poor parenting, and rejection of Christian values.

Yeah, don't fight. If you can't escape put an object between you and the threat then stand your ground. Don't allow anyone behind you, don't speak except as a delaying tactic, and eliminate the one doing all the talking first. Simple as pie

What I'm seeing is that the victim thinks A: he can talk his way out of a fight because he assumes the perp is reasonable.
And B: the victim is blindsided from the side or behind and is unconscious before he hits the ground. Not a chance.

Unreal how many potential victims I see daily, distracted on their phones, walking into telephone poles, waving cash at an ATM, etc.

I agree that staying vigilant and avoiding if possible. If forced into a fight, for sure get at the 'leader'. I think the internet, social media, and gaming is a big influencer here.

As I have said before I grew up on the wrong side of the tracks, you fought or you were picked on by all. Its just the way it was.

Stompings were done on a regular bases if you went down. They were not to kill as the protected species does now but were to get your point across to the one being stomped. You learned to fight staying on your feet unless in a wrestling type maneuver you both hit the ground, you then continued to do damage wherever you could. The thing was to hurt your opponent enough that he would not continue the fight. You used your own discretion on that.

Think of taking martial arts lessons, a ball kick or a eye gouge is a standard attack and a good sensei will show you and have you practice the "right'' way to do a stomp. Teach you to use your heal rather than the toe or whole bottom of your foot. Sort of more bang for the buck.

Yeah, BTDT myself. But the KEY is that the stomping ends when the opponent stops fighting or is out cold. What I see these days, it looks like the perps are beating up a rag doll. Just beating the life out of some unconscious person laying on the ground. The 6 foot 6, 300 pound 17 year old who was stomping his 5 foot 1, 55 YO female teacher would have killed her had he not been physically stopped. For sure. We're talking Pit Bull mentality here.

Wasted breath. If they were reasonable they could tell you why they're threatening you and I've never known this to happen. In fact asking them "why" only serves to make them more determined to harm you. IMO this is what they expect to hear when someone plays their part as a victim.

It's why I said don't talk. Speaking destruction with your eyes causes them to hesitate and creates doubt for their own safety. When given the chance to realize it's you or them I've seen them back off. They are only stupid and self-preservation has nothing to do with intelligence, it's an instinct.

Might be? Been carrying a handgun for ~50 years and haven't shot anybody yet.

I can likely afford to wait until the last split second before deadly force is needed. Of course this is situational but regardless the target will probably not see my gun until after they're shot so I suppose they'll just need to be ready for a surprise

I heard about it listening to my family talk about growing up in the South Bronx in the 20's and 30's.

You did it when you wanted to drive home the point that you should not be messed with.
