He called me on my blackberry (lol) and basically said how dare you question boss man. In another life I would hunt you down... This was like 6 am and we were leaving for the Keys. He didn’t know I was his predecessor and backfilled his ass during the underlap. I told the retiring dude what went down because he was a coworker and friend. Still is. He said let it go, no big deal, so I did. I was seething. About an hour into the trip I called him because I didn’t want to be pissed for the entire trip so I called him back. Told him not to ever talk to me like that again and GFH. The rest of the trip was fine.

When retiring dude’s wife retired, a secretary, she got the civilian equivalent of what I suggested boss man award my friend. Superior Civilian Service award if I remember right.

LTCs are god in the field, but not at HQ. We were the same rank. I ain’t takin that kinda shit from an equal. Fkn prick.
