I’m trying truth BBQ this weekend, that or Killins bbq may be a good place to look for bbq, PIT room is pretty good as well and may be less of a line than Truth or Killins.

We’re taking my little guy to the rodeo on Sunday for Zac Brown, but depending on timing I’d love to try and meet up, weather is usually pretty nice, the beir Garden at St Arnold’s is is usually a pretty good spot. But over all Houston has some of the best and most authentic food in the country, there’s so many good options.

If anyone is around the medical center area and wants to grab a beer on Sunday 3/5, let me know. Also if you have any recommendation on places to go or eat, we're skipping a rental and just Ubering around. I'm definitely interested in finding a great BBQ place.

We have wanted to do the big three (IMO), Houston Rodeo, Cheyenne Frontier Days, and Calgary Stampede, for some time. One of the three will now be complete.

You will have an awesome time. Rodeo is great because it's not woke. Very patriotic and they even, gasp...pray at the start of the event.

Okay I ordered Truth BBQ for take out yesterday, it was good, the Ribs were a bit soft for my liking. That said, there was a very long line for it, you may want to consider ordering takeout BBQ a few days before you plan to eat it, otherwise you may be at the mercy of the lines showing up. I think Pit Room on Richmond is a good option, the line can get a bit long there too, but I've managed to get in and out with minimal line in the past as well.

Other places to consider in no particular order: Pizzitolas, Pinkertons, Blood Brothers.

For example I waited in line for about 4hrs for Franklins BBQ in Austin over the F1 weekend last year, but found out too late that I could have just ordered take out whatever I wanted.

And don't forget, Rudy's BBQ / Gas station does the best BBQ breakfast burritos in TX! Gotta try that at least once

Been to the Fort Worth Stock Show many times. Very fun looking at the animals and the exhibits. Rodeo...ehhh...just not my cuppa tea. Still a good time.

Is there a chance you’ll be down by tomorrow? I am taking my son to the carnival tomorrow before the rodeo I could send him home with a friend if y’all wanted to join us for the other two tickets. Tomorrows show starts at 3;45 I think.

Not sure, it was freezing here and two cats, we’d been on our flight this morning. Knowing it could be days, just not smart to leave. At this point I’m hoping for tomorrow, but only if we get power back.

If we do make it tomorrow, we’ll probably just explore Houston and chill out. Thanks for the offer though, I wouldn’t want your son to miss out, ZBB puts on a great show

Damn. That sucks. I hope you have a generator to keep the heat on. I never thought I'd experience a power outage in the Winter, in Houston, but....I did, it sucked. I can only imagine how bad it would be up North.

Yep house is warm, the fridge is cold, and the router is powered up 😂. It’s just not a permanent automatic unit, so I’m playing fuel boy. Power went out at 9 last night and by 2 this morning we were down to 63, so not a situation where we can hop on a plane. We’ve been without power for up to 5 days before, can’t leave the pets like that

And we’re off, crews are repairing the lines by our house so we are at DTW waiting for a flight, won’t get to Houston until about 6:30 tonight but we still have tomorrow for the rodeo!
