The ramp boards are 1x6's, the diamond plate is a 12" from ramp to concrete, have plenty of room to negotiate through, even in a wheelchair.

I know not aesthetic looking, but we'll live with it.

Looks damn nice!!

Thankfully you do not live in my hood, as if you did, you would need:

1) to kiss an hoa board member's ass to submit the request to community management company
2) community management company would require you submit architectual drawings, and contractor license, with current liability coverage
3) community management company would take at least eight weeks to confirm license and insurance is valid and current
4) community management company would then start reviewing the plans, and send them back to you at least three times until you are able to correct the hue for all twelve positions of the sun on any given day
5) Once all of the above is done, you will have to wait for a majority hoa board vote, they only meet every six weeks, and may take a few meeting before they can fit on their agenda
6) The board will fail you at least twice, as you may not have known only approved vendors for materials can be used
7) Once you finally obtain the board approval, your contract will have to re-apply for new permitting due to the original's date has now expired

Be very thankful you do not live in an association, or at least my association.

Very simple job, even a contractor could do it based on equivalence. Double the span requires "S" x4, and "I" x8, then check your two remaining posts and double the tie downs.

Or, move the walkway as described before and warp the edge to match the ramp.

Looks good.

Looking at this pic:

I'm guessing the first row of pavers are 4" x 6" as they are clearly wider than the "unnecessary" 4 x 4 end post. Since the opening is 8+ pavers wide, that means it is at least 32".

I'm old enough to remember when the "engineer" was only off by 1/8".

And get an ADA non-compliance from the inspector. Inspector would also write you for unexpected transition if you extended the walk beyond the end of the ramp.

If only we had an engineer that could provide detailed instructions on a resolution.

What would you guess would support that load? 6 cases of soup cans from my inexperienced point of view.

Long story I will make short:

Bought my current home in DEC 2020, community of 133 homes was built in 1997
Same board prez and his cronies ran it through 2016
In 2016 I paid an attorney to explain how to remove them all, as they were arrogant, condescending and not very forthright
Cost me some dollars, and I went out and got a 75% quorum, not easy as needed 75% of homes, not 75% of voters
Removed them, sat on board for less than 2 years, as was frustrated
The other four members were mostly incompetent with ZERO business background
I had to explain in detail a Capital Projects Budget & Schedule multiple times
Three of the five were in lockstep, I decided my vote did not matter and left, even though I, yes I, got all of them on the board with money and hard work

My take is that most, if not all, associations, are full of those who have never had power in life, and now this is their saving grace, even though they, too, know they have no skills, and no experience to make decisions for the community.
Mostly ego, nothing else, and they take more than they give, and never admit their mistakes.

That doesn't bother me, I know folks have to put their 2¢ in whether it be complimentary or not, some folks can't help but to criticize, pick apart, and point out that something is not right. The way I see it, you opened the thread, you read it, that's enough for me................

The gap between the ramp and the pole, 52".

I estimated the gap at 4ft! Cool!

If the "engineer" says it's less than 24", it's less than 24".

It looked to me that the edge pavers were 4". Now I see they are 6". Could have narrowed the walkway and avoided the issue with the post and downspout, saved money and a better end result.
