Default Death from pepper spray?

From one of our local SO. This was posted on FB. She was only 26 yrs. old. It's one of those things you start back tracking and shocked to find out what happened leading up to the death. No official cause of death...just everyone reading her FB page and then questioning what went wrong.

FB post copy/paste from recent to one week ago....

Regardless of the cause, that's just terrible.

It is possible she had some type of reaction to the pepper spray.

They also have to be tasered to be qualified on it. Pepper spray seems like a stretch unless she went into some kind of crazy shock. Sad either way.

Someone else posted that got the same spray. She said it was bear repellent spray. She wound up with swollen eyes and difficulty breathing. I wonder if they went with too much or just more toxic spray or just bad reactions from all involved.

Just so sad to read the post of the young lady before it all happened. She was happy to be moving to day shift, enjoying life, etc...one week later and it's over.

I'm going to guess it was a bad reaction.

One of the guys I went to High School with ended up being a guard at Graterford Federal Prison ( where they send all the murders and those other type of fine folk).
Steve played semi pro football before becoming a guard.

One of his co workers came into the gun shop where I was working and shared this story. He said when they tazed Steve, he just flinched a little bit. Later, when they sprayed him directly in the face with the pepper spray, he licked his lips and said "this would be good on a sandwich".

Everybody handles the spray ( or tazing) differently. It looks like it may have overloaded that young lady's system with a fatal reaction.

I'd agree with the "bad reaction" theory. The young woman may have had allergy sensitivities, or who knows what. Bad situation all around; I imagine the other officers involved in the event aren't taking it too well.

I've always wondered about the wisdom of officers being tased or sprayed. Is it a voluntary thing? After all, you don't need to be shot before being issued a gun, or hit over the head before being issued a nightstick.
