I see them out in daylight all the time. You can't drive a couple of miles around here without getting a whiff of one.



A year or two ago I was over at a friend's house, and we were having a beer on his back deck. We heard his dogs making a racket, and then come running out of the woods into the yard. They were yelping and nose diving into the lawn trying to rub off the odor they just been sprayed with. Before we could get up, the dogs ran up on the deck and started rubbing on us! I wound up having to drive home in my underwear with my pants in the bed of the truck.

Don't see them stink squirrels in Raleigh but in Naperville/ Warrenville of Illinois that stink was literally part of the roads.

True story - bought a house with basement there. No covers on window well. Day 1 of new house, while at a local conference that night one of those bastards fell in window well, popped drain tile cover off and worked his way into sump pump while spraying. Sump pump next to furnace... ya f'd the whole house up.

Damn animal would not climb up on board to get out - only dig down... So at 1AM stuck my hand down in window well with 9MM and shot him I was that pissed.

Not only did I stink, I was blind and deaf LOL

bet the WIFE was pleased, MY wife has a VERY sensitive sniffer, I can't open a can of paint without her knowing it...and that's in the damn garage!!!!
