The 62 year old was your BIL? Heartbreaking either way. It sounds like the 9 year old was clear-headed, and handled the situation well.

Wife's brother. Possibly a heart attack from the excitement rather than a drowning.

After bouncing off down to a lower roof on the house and narrowly missing going another 10 ft down to the ground a couple weeks ago, wife is now pressuring me to get refrigerated air so there would be no need to get up on the roof.

All I did was miss a step on the ladder, but it might be a good idea. Mastercooler works good and only 2 years old but I might cave on this one.

Electric and water is already up there. Going to be about 10k

Bouncing around is never good especially when you can pay someone else to bounce around instead.

I used to do roofing, didn't think much about it back then but haven't been on one in 20 years now. Getting old is like that.

A few years back I started tripping over things a lot and got hurt pretty bad the last time it happened. Didn't make sense because I've always been very coordinated. Thought on it for a while and finally decided the bifocals were causing the problem. They blurred the ground where I needed to step, couldn't see trip hazards. Got two sets of glasses now, one for reading and one for driving. Haven't fallen since.

Same here, the readers cause issues... A ladder made me it's bitch last year when forgot to take them off.

OP... Glad your BIL saved the kiddo.
