What's Wrong With IE?

You basically have to double code every page element...One line of code that works for all other browsers, then an alternate block of code to make that same element appear and function in IE.

This was a necessary evil when 50+% of the internet was browsing on IE. You just couldn't dismiss that large of an audience. You wanted people to see your shit, you HAD to make it work in IE.
Now, with IE down to around 2% usage...Web designers can easily adopt the "****it, we no longer care if this shit works in IE" attitude.

My wife watches YouTube videos and is complaining about loading / delay issues with Internet Exploder.

What other browser works well with Youtube and is similar in use to IE?

Nothing is similar to IE. I use FireFox. I'm also playing around with the new Edge which is based off of Chromium (i.e. Chrome). Seems to work pretty well. The original Edge that rolled out with 10 sucked. I also play around with Brave. I don't use Chrome due to memory and privacy issues.

I have to use FireFox with youtube, my bank page, and Fox news page...otherwise not all the features load.

To say my wife isn't much of a computer person would be an underestimate. I put FireFox on tonight for her to try. This ought to be interesting as she doesn't like change on the computer.

I'm probably a well on the fringe dude since I have an Iphone without that Fakebook thingy. Social media is depressing as hell with all those people living a fake life and bitching at each other.

Both my wife and I are Pennsylvania Deutsch ( German ) and have a very strong "stubborn" streak as part of our genetics

More Mennonite than Amish but "stuck hard" if pushed.

Somehow it will be my fault that support for IE is stopping

Yeah I don't like FB that much, but it's the only way I can see my kids/grand kids, and also the Marketplace app. I don't use FB on my phone, probably the worst thing you can do is using it on your phone. It was the first app I uninstalled from my phone.
The add-on Facebook container will stop FB from following you around the web.
