I have broken my wrist 3 times over the years.
Sounds like, you have done the same. My advice get it checked out.

If you're not going to see a dr, then at least go to Walmart and get a wrist splint for around $20. I used one last year for about a month and worked out well.

Take some Ibuprofen also.

Pro tip for older house painters (like me). Judicious use of a 4 inch roller eliminates about 90 percent of brush work while painting houses. Put that roller on a broom handle and cut your ladder work by a ton as well!
