You did a bad, bad thing. It is called a hand bidet sprayer. They are common in nursing homes. Also in some private residences.

"if you're a woman you squirt from the front after urinating. you can squirt from the front after urinating if you're a man and are sitting on the toilet (obviously not the usual way it's done but no reason why you couldn't). Man or woman can squirt the backside clean from the front, just sort of tilt pelvis forward and point the water flow farther back. You don't want to squirt from the back probably, because you'd splash your crotch with dirty water. Hope this helps. Takes some practice to avoid splashing water all over the place. Try first directing the nozzle into the toilet bowl, press the lever to get the desired flow/pressure, then direct it to what you want to clean. If you direct the nozzle at your crotch/backside and then press the lever, you may accidentally blast yourself with too hard of a water flow and make a mess. see less "
