I did something yesterday I hadn’t done in a long time.

The weather was shitful and I was bored, so I went to a mall. I’m one of those people who is negatively affected by shitful weather. I can take a day here and there, but string them together and I’m looking for something to slit my wrists with.

At any rate, I suspect it’s been at least two years since I went into a mall. Apparently, every refugee from Latin America and the Middle East had the same idea. As a white English speaker, I was a minority and not by a little bit. The demographics of this country have changed markedly in an incredibly short amount of time. The political implications should be obvious to even the casual observer.

So yeah, the rain continues today and I’m not doing well with that. It’s another month before I can head out on my annual snowbird trip to warm and sunny. Damn. First world problem I guess.

Well, there’s that, but there’s also Belk, Penny’s, and Sears. Most of the other stores cater to a younger crowd.

While in Sears I became nostalgic about the Sears I grew up with. You know, wishbook and all that. My hometown Sears had an entire wing devoted to toys at christmas time. It was a real treat for mom and dad to take me there. Just a memory now. Nothing like it to be seen.

When I went to Wal-Mart yesterday, they had turned the entire Lawn and Garden section into Christmas decoration section. I had to go to the outside area and hunt for the items I was looking for. Annoying.

Food court.

Those are actually pretty cool because everyone in the family/group can get what they want and all eat together. It's the only reason I can think of to go to a mall.
