Dodged a bullet driving up to Atlanta...
Weather was horrible for 80% of the 9.5 hour drive up. Towing is never fun. Saw 12-15 southbound accidents, including one with a corpse covered in a white sheet lying on the interstate.
Other than seeing a single car wreck northbound at the Florida Turnpike/I-75 merge, not a single accident going north. On a side note, the northbound one looked like nobody even noticed the car was there. Airbags deployed and passenger rear window blown out, car all mangled, and the driver's door was wedged against something. Absolutely no way to stop...heavy traffic and torrential downpour, so I called it into 911. Trailer in downtown ATL in the pouring rain, at night, blows donkey nuts. |

And this explains why I didn't see any wrecked cars, just a corpse.

Last time I was through Atlanta, it was for recovering some BDSM gear we built for a BDSM niteclub......the trips up there I was told afterwards that I shook hands with a made man in the Mafia....they decided to close the club down or change the theme, and even though they paid for the gear, they let us keep it upon 'recovery' it was sold to another club down south......so we sold it TWICE, in fact.....yawl ever make a Guillotine??? thought not......

I presume that you are in Atlanta to retrieve Bay Max so that it can be rebuilt.

Thanks for stopping by Craig! Actually, I know how it is, you just want to get where you are going, then haul ass home. I know it is a long trip. Glad you made it safe and sound. But please, stop by and drink those beers you left. Of course they may be skunky already. Hell, Boracay Johnny saved my beers for a year, but I had to politely turn them down as I brought fresh!!

Yep. We just arrived back home in Fort Myers. I'm going to take a few pictures, then we are going to disassemble the parts today/tomorrow. He goes to the body shop first thing Monday morning.

Almost done tearing Baymax apart. Will start a thread for his rebuild. Very minor interior engine bay deformation that the body shop will fix easily. All the more reason I'm glad they will not only paint, but will fix that and do the reassembly. The quote was $2,700, so they will make $2,200. I'm happy with that for sure.
Basically, GWiz will get paid $500 for the parts that we supplied (their cost) and they will do the rest of the work. We're doing the disassembly, cause we need to diagnose a suspension noise on the same corner that was pre-existing. |

Sounds about right and what I used to do each Winter with the truck, boat/trailer, when we did the FL gig.
Damn sure miss the sunshine but kids school comes first. Scott
