Yeah... Guns that fall into the “LOOKS GOOD” category aren’t always ideal... I’ve had this Colt Government Model .380 for a long time. At first blush, it looks like a cute sibling to it’s namesake, but it’s not reliable for me to carry EDC. That’s too bad, because it’s almost as small as the LCP, and the trigger and ergonomics are on the order of several magnitudes better. I just wish it was more reliable.

I have a Beretta Model 70S in .380 auto that Mary carries. It's all steel, weighs around 24 ounces and shoots exactly where you point it. Not snappy, it's a pleasure to shoot.

Looks like this one ( not mine, found on the web)

I looked at the LCP and LCR before I bought my Kahr CM9 years ago. I know Ruger has refined them a little since then but at the time they had gritty triggers. I opted for the Kahr.Click image for larger version

I do love Rugers, though. I have the SR22, SR9, SR9C, SR1911cmd, and AR556. Well, I did until the boating accident.

I can say a few things about my LCP. It won't run dirty like a Glock. I purposely carried it in my pocket for months and let it get nasty. Two rounds and done. Newer models may be better. It also doesn't like hollow points. Matter of fact, it hates them. Would pretty much jam every time. Ball ammo....runs through like a champ..when clean. One just has to realize what the weapon is going to be used for, load it, and treat it accordingly.

Kind of shitty on a SD pistol to not have it run HP's reliably.

The HP's wedged going up the ramp every time. This is on a clean gun too. I had to force the slide into battery.

Interesting. Probably one of those things where you have to try a variety of different HP ammo to find out what it likes.

True. I think I was using Monarch which is definitely cheap shit in the HP dept. My take is, that it likes to be clean, and there are brands of ammo it prefers. Haven't figured all that out, but will.

Try some Winchester Silver Tips, they have a reputation for being "good" for the mouse guns. I haven't tried them yet with my PPK, but I need to collect a variety of ammo for that thing and dial it in. Reloading .380 is kind of a pain in the ass, I'm not going to mess with it anymore.
