I would have to agree that Americas best days are behind her. We would need 2 or 3 truly conservative Presidency’s, plus the House and Senate, to make any meaningful headway in turning this shit-show around. The rot in D.C. runs too deep in elected positions and bureaucracy’s alike. If Trump is lucky enough to win in November, it will only be a brief respite in the Globalists quest to fundamentally change America. It is what it is.

If you're old enough to remember Mammy Yokum and Prince Valiant in the Sunday paper you'll get all these comments.

I remember Prince Valiant, but it was one of the ones I didn't read.

Never heard of the other one. Did you mean L'il Abner?

Same here, I remember PV but didn't read it, and never heard of the other one.

I read Blondie and a couple other ones that I can't remember. When "Far Side" came around I made sure I read them every day.

Top comic of all time: Peanuts.

Far Side is definitely top 10, maybe top 5.

Ha yes, my sisses used to buy me them also, plus books full of his cartoons.

People seem to come down on only two sides with Larson's humor: Hilariously funny or "I don't get it, it seems stupid."

Mammy Yokum lived in Dogpatch USA in the Lil Abner comic strip.

When I was a kid, I can remember my dad laughing when reading Dagwood every day. He loved it.

Dagwood is/was the epitome of the average, spoiled-by-wife American male.

I stumbled upon a film of Beanie's Drive in #2 in Long Beach CA from 1953 the other day, and found it was based on my favorite cartoon and one of my earliest memories, Beanie and Cecil. I watched an episode on youtube for the first time in 61 years and was laughing. Peter Lorre as a Fish. Bobby Darin as a fish singing "Jack the Knife", etc. Mostly adult humor, guised as a kid's cartoon. Popeye was similar, especially the 1930's episodes. Anyway, what a trip seeing characters I haven't seen since age 2 or so, and remembering what Cecil looked like. Probably why my favorite color is green.

When I was in school, anybody who wore green -- especially on Thursdays -- was considered a queer.

So you like green?
