Default Illinois the new Floriduh?
1. Two Illinois teenagers who died in a sledding accident over the weekend at Copper Mountain Ski Resort in Colorado have been identified.

Dylan Bazzell and Drew Fehr were visiting the resort on Spring Break when the accident occurred Sunday night around 8:30 p.m., according to a press release from the Summit County Sheriff's Office and information from Prairie Central Community Unit School District Number 8.

The sheriff's office said the two teens reportedly rode tandem down the halfpipe and launched off a large snowbank at the bottom. They made a hard landing on ice below, causing blunt force trauma.

2. A skier is dead after falling from a chairlift at Breckenridge Ski Resort on Friday, March 17.

John Perucco, 60, of Elgin, Illinois, was pronounced dead at St. Anthony's Summit Hospital in Frisco after the fall, the Summit County Coroner's Office said in an email. Perucco was reportedly wearing a helmet when he fell from the lift.

The investigation determined the male had fallen off of the chairlift as he was attempting to remove snow from the seat surface, according to the Sheriff's Office, which added that the restraint bar was in the up position.

Fun but dangerous. A carload of us snuck into the county sled park after midnight once. There was a jump at the bottom of the hill and we aimed for it. At least four of us on the toboggan (maybe 5). The chute wasn't wide enough. It's not like you could see that from the top of the hill being drunk (peppermint schnapps) in the dark. Instant stoppage at the bottom. Elbows and assholes everywhere. Good thing we weren't feeling any pain. Pure luck none of us got killed, paralyzed, or otherwise needed an emergency room visit.
