No...it does not, at least not on outboard engines like mine. Once you tilt the engine out of the water, there is a manual locking device that you set the engine down on that relieves the hyd. pressure.

As I mentioned before, being on the end of my canal, there is little to no wake/wave action.

After doing a year of research, I am quite sure the floating dock system is the best option for ME. May not be in some other folks cases, but for me it is.
