This was an opportunity to come back from an absence and simply say "thanks for asking about me. I needed some time away" and leave it at that...but where would the drama be? Instead there has to be a tap dance and backstory and bullshit to wake up what was said and done.

I am not ashamed of anything that was said in my PMs. I am fully entitled to my opinions and my perceptions. I don't feel the least bit compelled to defend them or subject them to even more inaccurate interpretation.

I always thought Pete was a cool dude. And I figured he's one of those guys that if you were out and about in his company, sure enough someone would walk up and know Pete. Especially if in Tejas.

Sure you are entitled to your perceptions, but there is something to be said if they are grossly wrong. I just don’t see how somebody can be around Pete for well over a decade and think that he’s faking his illnesses. If your perception is off this much, where else is it off is what I would be asking myself?

He and I have had our differences, but I can never imagine thinking he was fabricating his medical horror story.

My friend and now deceased neighbor was just like that. Seemed to know everybody in town. We were at a local cruise in night in town, and I saw a friend's dad there, with his '57 T-Bird. So I'm thinking, hey, I finally have a chance to show my neighbor that I know somebody. So we're walking up, and my neighbor says, "hey, you know xxxxx too?"
