Wow I have not heard that used in decades. We used it quite often in the late 50s to late 60s. No one got upset, at least back then, things were so much friendlier!

I had a post on water shortage in CA deleted because I used the word 'governors'. No names listed, even. Just stated how none of our governors has dredged the Sacramento Delta in 59 years so it's at half of its storage capacity and that was enough.

Then some guy in the Doug thread asked if "that old fart who pretends to be an engineer that I used to swing on his balls was banned" and I answered that if he meant that pocket-protector-wearing, slide rule fondling old bald guy, yeah, he got the Perma. And he's happily posting quality content at the other place.
