If you send it as a gift, not payment, then the fee is very small. 50 cent fee to send $100. You can opt to pay the fee on your end so the net sent is 100 (or whatever you want to send), so your balance will go down $100.50. Cheaper than a stamp to the Philippines.

Do you now have sufficient funds to rent a truck, if necessary, to pick up the kids toys at Cebu City (a) presuming that you need a minimum of 33% more than you had originally anticipated (rumors must have started by now) and I think you should plan on having a minimum of 400 kids, and (b) would you still have the gifts for the various contests that you guys want to run?

Also, if you buy candy, won't that take over the German and his wife's deal?

If you don't have enough money to rent a truck and buy the 400 odd gifts, let us know and we could probably come up with a few more bucks.

I will be going to the city in about a week or so, and will make a better decision after seeing what is available down there, instead of just what we can find here on our island.

The Toys here are pretty much just import stuff from China, but to the best of my memory it is about the same quality and price as I will find there unless we go to an upscale Mall.

At this level I'm not going to make the decision just on the freight expenses as we are over the planned budget.

We will have extra so might do our own candy give away on Christmas Eve, separate from the German and his wife. (more is always better)

Should we start a separate thread for Christmas games ideas, and give aways?

Hey Guys and Gals, I have a few more thoughts but want everyone here to let me know what you think and add your own thoughts and ideas.

By the time we get done doing the shopping, (and I plan to do it carefully so it goes as far as possible) there is going to be extra left over.

The generosity here has far exceeded any expectations I ever had.

A few ideas I have.

I'm thinking we also do a smaller Toy give away on my old street back in Mandaue City Cebu, as Dixie and I will be there anyway a few days earlier when I go to pick him up at the airport.
(Maybe 50 kids I'm guessing that would love to see Santa and get some Toys)


We don't know how much extra funds there will be until the shopping is almost done, but other thoughts I have that I mentioned are games and contest with Cash and Toy prizes, also maybe Rice packages...

Not all of the kids in our village will know to come, but we will get the word out the best we can, I'm thinking it would be fun to drive to the upper part of the village and try to go house to house some looking for the kids that miss the party, I have a neat tricycle/truck lined up for us to borrow that day.

Also if there are extra Toys left, we could drive to the next village over (only about a mile away) and drive around some through that village until we run out.


What do you all think? any ideas?
