What the heck, I'll post another one... just finished processing this (well finished for now... it has some problems). Finally broke down and bought a small refractor telescope for imaging stars, nebulae, galaxies, etc. First trip out and my focus wasn't perfect so stars aren't as sharp as the scope is capable of.

The field of view is about what you would expect from a 540mm camera lens on a full frame camera.

What is it?

The Lagoon and Trifid nebulae are in the Sagittarius arm of the the Milky Way galaxy. If you find a dark enough location, you can see them with the naked eye and they are easily seen with binoculars. The Trifid nebula is on the left side in this photo. This section of the Milky Way is visible from Spring into the late part of Fall.

Not really. She and I both know it and when we are in the Philippines, we still stay there with her family at their house.

It is, but their house is much nicer since I built them a new house. They have running water, toilet, and a shower there now. It is nice to be able to take a shower inside and not in the street with everyone watching.

Stevedore's fox pic reminded me of this guy I took by our barn several years ago:

i'm guessing a house there, with running water, toilet, and shower, costs somewhat less than a similar one here!

good for you!

Wait until Wyatt goes to out of state college.

G never stepped foot in a public school. I'm pretty sure there's two lost Aventadors when you add up the totals from beginning in pre k, to end of GT.

That was by choice, though. Daycare wasn't optional for us with the kids and, if I had to guess, not for Stangkiller, either.

We were very blessed that my career allowed for me to have my wife take 10 years off to raise our child, and as an added bonus, dad worked from home. Our daughter was immersed with both parents involved from day 1. The kid that you have all watched grow for the past 13 years is a byproduct of that luxury. I wish everyone had the opportunity to do that.

My phone generally has a hard time with lighting...most pictures come out under or over exposed. Then suddenly...

We are fortunate enough that it was up to my Wife, we would have been fine had she wanted to stay home, but I left that choice up to her. For the time being she's opted to go back to work, we're fortunate enough her take home more than covers the day care. Now if we have a second one, I'm not sure if I can or even want to foot that $3,200 daycare bill perhaps a nanny? Time will tell.

About 6mos ago this came through my next door neighbor at my work. He's a freight forwarder. It came straight from Italy, brand new, gutted for the track. Headed to L.A. Yeah, not the best of pics but I'm pretty sure the first ones states side...

It gets progressively less expensive as they get older but, for the couple years that both our kids were in preschool, it was just about $2K per month. The wife grew weary of me introducing our kids as "my Porsche payment" and made me start using their names.
