But therein lies the rub. Was it racial? If I say you look like an ape, that's not racist but if I say she does, it is? Calling someone an ape in and of itself is not racist. Now suppose someone, anyone LITERALLY looks like an ape. What is the PC way to communicate such a description?

If I call someone stupid, if they genuinely are, it might hurt them. If someone called me stupid, it has no effect. I don't feel I am.

A disconnected party A calls another disconnected party B a name and party C thinks it is funny and a shit storm hits party C. That makes no sense.

Granted, she holds a public position, but she is still a person with an opinion of what is comical and what is not.

I'm not saying it is right, but I am sick and tired of rules being applied where it is convenient or supports an agenda.

If party A commented on a Trump picture and said he looks like an Orange Oompa Loompa and the mayor agreed, this entire issue would never see the light of day. THAT is why it is complete bullshit.

Calling a black person an ape or a monkey has been considered a racial slur for decades. That's the issue.

Calling a black person a cracker isn't racist, but calling a white person a cracker is.

Then of course there's the issue that only white people are considered racists.

If the statement is made or liked by them, people know John/Jane Citizen is a racist. If the statement is made or liked by them, people know the mayor is a racist and can not effectively serve out the role of being a true representative of all the people.

I think it is funny when someone falls down the steps. It does not mean I am a sadist. It doesn't mean I am not concerned for their safety or well being. My first reaction is to laugh. Too many 3 Stooges shows growing up I guess.
