US launches missiles into Syria in response to chemical weapons attack

DEVELOPING – The United States launched dozens of cruise missiles at a Syrian airfield early Friday in response to a chemical weapons attack that killed dozens of civilians.

The Tomahawk missile strikes destroyed portions of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s military infrastructure. Fox has learned there was one primary target an airbase in Shayrat, located outside Homs, a US official tells Fox News

The military plans called for 43 Tomahawks to be fired from the USS Porter and USS Ross. The two Destroyers in the Med can carry 70 Tomahawks altogether.

US defense officials tell Fox the two warships have been training for the past two days to execute this mission.

“Our forward deployed ships give us the capability to quickly respond to threats... these strikes in Syria are a perfect example - this is why we're there,” said a Navy official.

Trump booted out Bannon and picked everybody's favorite open border stooge, Rick Perry to be on the national security team. Cyber, I've gotta tell you I'm worried. Syria is not our fight. Even if it was, it's like going to a maximum security prison to pick out a new best friend. There are no good choices of who to back. Best to stay out of it.

It was too much to hope for I guess. Our deep state is so bad. This is sorta the point in the story when you start to wonder "Are we the baddies?"

OK OK OK, let's say that it was only a strike on an airfield or two. And limited to just taking out infrastructure. And we gave a cursory warning to Russia at the last minute. I can live with that. But if it's just a total fiasco of fatalities, if the targeting info was totally wrong, and if Assad and Co. decides they can put on a White Helmet production of their own. God help us all.

Refugees pouring into America.
WTF is your solution?

To certain extent I agree this is not our fight, the continued use of chemical and biological weapons, I feel, changes the dynamics. For 7 years Assad has acted without any repercussions. Obama drew a red line, Assad crossed it and we did nothing. You could view this as Trump enforcing Obama's red line (bet the liberals would love that rationale).

And you are correct, look at the stream of refugees as this continues - this needs to end.
