My wife keeps telling me that you need to get away from the city girls and find one from the province. Trust me, there are good ones, but if you stick to malls and in the city, you are likely not going to find as many good ones as you would when you truly disconnect from your comfort zones.

I have never been to the Philippines before so as you noted I am not comfortable getting out of the tourist areas at least this trip.

The Filipinos are very pretty but I so far can not tell the gold diggers from the genuine nice girls, not sure I will get that skill but will see what happens.

I have several pretty girls agreeing to meet me in malls this visit to see what happens, I am going to have a good time and will go with the flow.

Some tourist sites in Makita I plan on visiting and I am making it known I am looking for someone to hang out with and see the sites with me.

I am surprised not one pretty young lady has said no to meeting me in Makita for some reason (yes I know why).

This could be a one time trip, will see what happens.

It's Ma-kah-tea, aka the rich folks place. And separating the decent girls/ladies from the gold diggers is a problem no matter the country. The best match making is through friend of a friend. I'm not saying it won't happen, I'm saying the odds are bettter. Unless you like the better odd ones.

I am not expecting anything this visit, just to go and see some sites.

You are right, gold diggers are everywhere, just in the US I can usually spot them in the PI I so far online I cannot, maybe a face-to-face will improve the odds.

I am not looking for the special lady on this trip, if the trip leads to that down the road cool, but I am going to have a good time and not expecting much.

I tried the friend hookup but so far it hasn't been working out for me.

You will be fine up there in Manila, but a couple hours ago Duterte declared Martial law down in Davao...Thinks will be cleaned up in a couple days, but you are right, don't get to adventurous on this first trip.

I am not suppose to go to Mindanao or Cebu for that matter, since I am a newbie to PI I am not willing to take any chances.

There were a couple of times in the 80's that we were restricted to the base because of islamic uprisings. This was on Luzon so he may have a point.

What are your thoughts on Cebu? I know you, GentleBen, Johnny, and Uncle Meat have some good insight.

I only had a 4 day port visit to Cebu during my time. We had no problems at that time. Rest of the time I was in Subic Bay. Did take a short trip to Corrigidor, where my Father served during WWII.

I've been laying low in this thread, but I'm feeling like a psychic on how this turns out. If I go to an animal shelter intending to spend a couple of minutes feeding and petting a few needy animals, intentions be damned, there's about a 99% chance I'll end up bringing one home, especially if I'm alone and accustomed to having one around.

I am petting a couple remotely, one wanted meet me as at airport, I said no, how about hotel,again no, I will need sleep and shower before meeting at a mall, getting plenty of messages from others.

I was going to meet one, last minute it didn't work out, had trip all planned out and saw no reason to cancel. Going to have a little fun, got some local escorts setup already.

Told my boss today if I am not back in a couple weeks it is because of the martial law, he didnt by it.
