My buddy has done over a dozen Badwater runs in that heat. I forget how many he has done a double, which was going 137 miles to the eastern Sierras and then turning around and running back. Crazy guy also ran an ultra in Morocco in the freaking desert.

He posted a pic on fb last week in central CA... He was "heat training". 90+ out and he was running in a parka.

It was 115 in Vegas yesterday.

My wife and were in Laughlin, NV (about 100 miles south of Vegas) about 10 years ago. We drove straight from Hemet, CA in 3 hours in an air conditioned car in mid July. We opened the door and holy hell! It was 120 in the shade, and the guy that took our car said it will cool down to 95 at midnight. I'll never go there again in the middle of summer.
