Default Stiff brake pedal etiology

Ok smarty pants. Solve this automotive issue.

2015 SRX has a tight brake pedal. It seems to only occur when it has been parked in the summer heat 95+

Car will brake but pedal barely moves and is very stiff/tight. When the brakes are applied and the vehicle is at a complete stop the car does not need the brake pedal pressed. It will remain at a stop until you press the gas

When temps cool, brake pedal back to normal.

Stuck caliper(s). Pads don't retract sufficiently, so not much pedal motion needed. Just a guess, based on actual experience though.

Yep. I would start with the calipers. Several parts need cleaned and lubricated when doing a proper brake job. Caliper slide pins,etc...also could be a weak or damaged brake hose...warped disc...several things to check out.

You really need to get the entire brake system checked out by a pro.

I had a proportioning valve go bad and do something similar but I'm with others in suggesting the whole system be gone through, brakes being kind of important. #BrakesLivesMatter

Over 40 years of working on cars, restoring cars and building cars and never, not once, have I used or heard the word “etiology” associated with cars.
