Default It took me 6 months to lose 17 lbs...

of my 25 lb goal...

and just a couple weeks of some good eatin and beer drinkin to pack 7 lbs back on. Dammitt.

"Tried to amend my carnivorous habits
Made it nearly seventy days
Losin' weight without speed, eatin' sunflower seeds
Drinkin' lots of carrot juice and soakin' up rays

But at night I'd had these wonderful dreams
Some kind of sensuous treat
Not zucchini, fettucini or Bulgar wheat
But a big warm bun and a huge hunk of meat..."

I have weighed 225, like a Buick Deuce and a Quarter for maybe 25 years now....

when I caught myself at 240 a couple years ago, I quit eating breakfast and lunch for a week....back to 225......

2 large mugs or 3 small ones and a snack...most days I skip lunch entirely....

most folks think about FOOOOPOOOOOD all day long, and we wonder why the nation is FAT......

I think it's more due to advertixing than anything else.....

I don't give a shit if someone is diabetic or not, that is a favorite excuse...if it's not through the lips it's not on the hips....period, end of discussion.....

one thing I hate is pasta/bread/grease/butter/cake/cookies type crap....people slather that shit on and then wonder about their weight.....

I started running 5 months ago. Also started doing push-ups and pull-ups as my primary resistance exercises. So far I've lost 17 pounds of fat and gained 4 pounds of muscle (measuring by starting/current weight and starting/current body fat %). I'm in better shape now, 2 weeks shy of my 37th birthday, than I was when I graduated high school

I call my wife 'Button Butt' for a reason, love her skinny little ass.....and she walks every morning, too bad I can't due to terminal arthritic painful feet, but I would go if possible, I try to stay busy doing something physical every day...work at some project or other....usually large and heavy enough....vehicles, house, yard/retaiing walls....whatever....

Sounds like you ate a bunch of bad carbs on top of the beer...

IE breads and pastas and not cleaner carbs like rice and sweet potato.

Oh well i am trying to put on 5lbs between now and january.

I stopped drinking July 16, 2010 and today I am 50 lbs lighter, also have two grandsons 21 and 18 months we are raising. No diet other than the suds and scotch, I do walk daily with the kids now and play racquet ball, but I did that before. At my age this kept me from blood pressure pills and the doctor saying your are obese

Thatís good to hear Steve.

I quit drinking Feb 12 and have gained 15 lb since then. Of course it could be the eating at 8:00 at night that does not help. I thought I was supposed to lose weight when I quit. Seems Crown has fewer calories than food does.
