EXACTLY. the problem is not guns, it's the mentally deficient people that get hold of them. If they put the folks who can't do well with others in the institution, AWAY FROM THE GENERAL PUBLIC, society as whole would be better off.

Sorry, not everybody is not able to control themselves in a proper manner. Those folks should be locked up.

The nut case who went to shoot up the festival, cut thru the fence to bypass security.

Even witnesses described the gunman as having no affect and seemed almost eerily calm.
These are trade marks of schizophrenia among other things.
I used to work with guys like that and the most insane sounding sheit is dead real to them.

They can be relatively high functioning and cogent one minute and later the same day be way off the reservation.

I’m not quite sure I understand how this was a legal purchase. If the kid had a California ID that’s an illegal gun in Cali, I thought the seller had to follow both states laws when selling a firearm.

News reports indicate he had moved to Nevada and rented an apartment. Establishing residency would have allowed him to get a Nevada driver license or some other form of Nevada ID.

A quick check of Nevada gun laws says you just need a state issued ID and must pass a point-of-sale background check.
