The pain in the ass is matching/finding correct fasteners. Bolts are not in a drawer at Ace Hardware. You can get close, but those kinds of things can be a challenge.

Having just gone through a lot of this BS with my '76, the most obtuse parts are very obtainable, as long as you know what it is you need.
The aftermarket corvette sites are saviors. I mostly used CorvetteAmerica as my main source, and I never had a shipping delay. ZIP, CovetteCentral, Ecklers(ugh), Covettemods, are some others that I used/searched. I found a lot of what I needed quite by accident, searching their site for something else (imagine trying to rebuild the inside of a parking brake cover - everything inside there is quite available).
The key is, you need to know what you need. Everything she needs is out there, as @Rodnok1 said, for quite a bit less than the $60k quoted.
That quote to me was a "I don't want to do it" quote.

Oh, BTW, the local ACE hdwre by me has a lot of misc car fasteners parts.
The owner (my meighbor btw) is a car guy himself (has a Buick GN) and told me when I was looking for emblem fast-on nuts "I keep them for the car guys".

Agree with this 100%!

Acquiring parts for a C3 is NOTHING like it has been for the E-type, adding on a S1.5 (even more rare) the parts can be impossible to locate.

The guy where the Jag is, the Ford expert (John), just called me and talked me down. He said the guy that gave the estimate is FOS and just doesn't want or need the work. Was his way of scaring us off. John is also an insurance agent for 30 yrs and said we will be able to get the insurance stuff squared away on parts no problem as we have a great paper trail and picture on the forum over there as to the state of the car before going to Charlotte.

So that is a big relief.

Is this going to work without the original for a comparison? Does the AIM get that granular?

BTW- My ‘65 was bought in 1,000 boxes and in rougher shape than what ya have there Nick~e.

If I remember right ~$20k parts from Zip et all. $18k paint from raw glass and to remove flares . $7k engine.

Make sure electric harness is new. Easy to replace and OldBen posted complete is $1.3k. Add to X-Mas list

For the item I listed/sourced, yes.

I took an OEM part in, and matched it. Ace is the Place!

Went searching on Ebay and found a lot of Reproduction parts. I posted a wiring harness set in the Bar thread (thought I had this one open).

This was my point. Her fasteners are missing. No ability to match.

I have a fair amount of C3 bolts, but I sure couldn't tell you where they went by looking at them. Those brain cells died a thousand beers ago.

I still think @Rodnok1 is closer in his estimate of $5k.
Error on the side of caution, you're at $10K for parts (hopefully you have the top frame, if not, add $3k).

$20-30K from a rebuilder is $10-15k if you do it yourself.
Just my $0.02

FYI, Paragon and Wilcox are additional places to source parts. Wilcox has the occasional sale as well. Good luck.
