Btw I would hit the state liquor store in Portsmouth exit 5 I think at the rotary nice selection and tax free...
Some real good bbq joint in Mass on 95 north in Byfield is the Rusty Can looks like a biker bar/a place to brawl but great food and order something from the chalkboard not the menu.

I think he was talking about the notorious Boston drivers. (Where I learned to drive.)

Portland used to be very expensive to fly into with limited service. Maybe that’s improved but if I were avoiding Logan I would look into Providence RI, Warwick isn’t that much more of a drive since you avoid the mess around Logan.

I got my driver's license in 1976 and moved out in '85, so roughly ten years experience there. So think elevated SE Expressway, Storrow drive tunnels, multi-lane rotaries and four lane intersections that neck down to two. My friends called my rusty, dented '72 LTD The Urban Assault Vehicle. I remember taking my girl into NYC one Saturday and seeing how relatively timid the taxi drivers were.

During warmer months I'd commute daily through Cambridge to a parking garage near the corner of Boylston and Tremont, on my motorcycle. At least four times drivers in cars tried to run me off the road. I caught up with three of them. It's amazing how their attitude changes when faced with a 20-something guy wearing a leather jacket, Chippewa boots and full face helmet, and they no longer have their 4000# steel cage to protect them.

I moved to Hartford CT for a year and it took me about a week before I realized that I was the biggest asshole on the road, so I took it down several notches. Then I moved to Syracuse NY and had to take it down several more.

Flew a connecting flight in a DC-3 once. Was a rainy night and this thing never got above the clouds. Max elevation maybe a half mile, could see traffic on the streets plain as day. Quite the roller coaster ride. I'd have been scared except that I always consign my fate to the grave before getting on a plane. So the ride was no big deal but stepping off it was a special feeling

Damn! My balls were never that big. Back in the early 80's, we had an air show in El Paso and all the planes were flying in on a Friday. I was out doing something when a National Guard plane was flying in with a P3 Sub Chaser and the tower ask when he originated from and replied from Brunswick Naval Air Station.

I thought this was good. When I got done, I went over and asked if he could give me a ride back and said sure. Cleared it with the CO and I was on my way at the end of the weekend.

Got into Brunswick around midnight. Fumble fkd around to get a ride to Portland to get a bus over to NH. Mom sure was surprised when I showed up.

Not bad in the days of winging it and no internet planning

Also, since DC-3's have been in continual service for the past 89 years, they're a pretty good design, it's safe to say.

I've been to Boston twice, and was amazed at how aggressive the drivers were. And I learned to drive in the SF Bay Area and got my license in 1976 as well.

The best worst drivers I've ever seen were around Florence, Italy. 3 to 5 cars abreast on a two-lane, jockying for position while swarms of scooters fly down the sidewalks and alleys...but nobody seems to get upset or get into an accident. Amazingly stressful.

Not sure if it was mentioned.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH, Maine

Is there a boardwalk in Maine?

One beach boardwalk in Maine has been listed among the best boardwalks in the U.S. for its small-town charm. According to Reader's Digest, Maine's Old Orchard Beach has a picturesque family-friendly pier with the classic attractions of an old school boardwalk, making it among the Top 20 in the nation.Aug 17, 2021.

York, Ogunquit, Old Orchard Beach are nice. If I were going to see a classic Maine beach it would be Two Lights in Cape Elizabeth and sit on the rocks eating a one pound lobster on a paper plate from the Lobster Shack.

I am back from Maine, and a one-day stop in DC, damn glad to be home!!

Okay, Maine is not terrible, very slow, people appear to be low-stress, most are unemployed when the summer season ends.

Driving from Logan to Bar Harbor (that's BAA HAA BAA for the locals) is a BIG PITA.
First off, Logan sucks, not very efficient, all things, bags pick-up and bus to rental cars and Enterprise is damn slow.
The car ride up was a solid five hours, but I did stop at NH State Liquor Store, good pricing but almost no premium liquors, I guess all there are on a budget.

Hit Bar Harbor, then Camden and then Rockland, town were nice, food was very average, still not a lobster fan.

Flew to DC for a day to see nephew and wife and new baby, 6-seater jet, great catered meal and then I pinched all the snack in the snack center AND all six seater, quite a heist.
Nephew must be doing well, newer four-story townhome with huge patio and then another bigger patio off 4th floor, 5,000 sq ft, has its own elevator, I think I counted six bathrooms, he will pay for his own golf, and mine, in the future.
It was damn easy, got to Rockland airport, was wheels up in less than 10 minutes, netjets has own dulles terminal so landed and was on the road in under 5 minutes.
Flew United home to FLL, b-i-l got us one, only 1, upgrade, I gave wife the FC seat, doubt she will remember.

Drank my fair share of Ardbeg and tequilla every night, AND the boat has multiple fridges, one is set at under 30 degrees, I call it the Beer Fridge, best damn beer ever, regardless of brand, as NOTHING beats an ice cold BOTTLED beer, NOTHING--wifey tried to put some Coke Zero in there, I explained the rules to her!!

I may go back next year, itinerary will include Kennebunkport, it was a good seven days of no cares, no alarms, no meal schedules, no calorie counting, no liquor maximum, unlimited naps and no dress code.

It was a very good time, I like vacations with no objectives other than doing things at your own pace, with no obligations.

And cold, cold beer is ALWAYS a bonus!!

BTW, someone told me boston always has tunnel and interstate work going on, as you need to spend money to steal money.
