I didn't have a reason when I was single, no kids and had money. I did a frame on with my '70 Vette in 8 months. Now.... married, two kids and no money I'm looking to sell the C5.... hoping to hang on to the C3 for a little while.

It's complicated. My Dad traded him labor (my dad was a machinist) for 12 years, worked on all the cobras and shelbys that came to the guys shop, they were good friends. The deal was he was to help my dad complete his car. My Dad did almost all the work and seldom got to work on the jag as he was always helping his buddy. Now my dad has been gone 4 years yesterday, and the car has basically not been touched. Every time we push him he promises he will get on it ASAP.... but that has proven to be BS.

That's the worst. Went through that shit with my son many years ago. Motor crapped out on his car, he took it to a supposedly reputable guy to do the rebuild. Turbo car so he decided to upgrade with forged parts, etc. He paid in advance for all the parts. Months went by with nothing done.

I went to the guy's shop there was the car all torn part. He blamed the engine builder. So I called that company. Owner told me the engine had been ready to go the whole time but he wasn't releasing it without payment.

So I go back to the shop and called dude out and he got pissed off and said **** this get your son's car out of here. Never been so pissed off in my life I wanted to beat this dude like a dog. But what would that get me? Jail.

So in the end we had the car towed out and he had to pay someone else again to rebuild the engine.

Sometimes life is a big kick in the nuts.
