great stuff Flange. I wish most men had mentors that have this kind off experience to pass on. I have a few I look up to. My dad is one of them. Even at my age it would have been great to have more of that to grow up around.

reality can sometimes suck. how we handle it matters. in my case, I am like a fireman whereas I run toward problems and try to take them on instead of running. others aren't built that way, they often run first and make it worse, knowing that they will have to deal with it at some point anyway. I figure you have to deal with it anyway, might as well just knock it out asap and skip the mental bullshit of wondering and worrying. that said, I am not afraid to admit that when all that stuff hit me within a few month period, it took me some time to get my head screwed back on straight. I made sure not to make it worse and quit drinking booze of any kind for a few years.

there is plenty of help available for those who need it. some, like me, just happen to be stubborn enough to grind it out and help themselves. not everyone has that fire in them as I do

Always had the stubborn part down. I guess the other issue is most people do not listen to advice along the way as well.

they often spend too much time listening to the voices in their head. its best to treat those as foes most of the time. the mind needs to be worked to avoid those.
