Default Another unexplained tragedy hits close to home..
Dr. William Mayfield, an opthalmologist and close friiend of mine, shot and killed his wife last night in a domestic dispute. Bill had Parkinson's disease and another rare disease that affected his memory and coordination. (He told me the name of that disease, but I don't remember it. It caused him to be clumsy, to drool, and cause his handwriting to shrink too small to be unreadable.) Bill was not a violent person I'm surprised that he even owned a gun. He would not fight even if challenged.

He's in jail, of course, charged with murder. I don't believe he had a death wish; if so, he would have killed himsef. Hard to understand.
