I got that same picture, I can go through the motions, but my rating doesn't appear. I even tried rating one of my own threads....no joy. I'll just consider it penance for general wrongdoing, for a few days, then maybe I'll hit up a mod to ask about it.

Hell yeah, we've been getting ours from a local farm share along with organic produce, for years.

Being in the food business, I see monster increases on some of the basic ingredients.

This is just in the last calendar year.

Some oils up 39%
Sugar: 31%
Honey: 48%
Vinegar: 24-27% depending on type
Onions: 19%

Forget glass packaging, freight etc.

Example: I cast my vote on a thread previously not rated. Then click OK. Then refresh the thread.....thread still has no stars, nothing. It's like I have a placebo star button. I can click on everything, in sequence, but nothing happens.

Let me try to do this in a way liberals might understand.

When the price is high and evil egg producers are getting too much profit, the greedy bastards want even more money so their greed entices them to invest in more capacity and more chickens to produce more eggs so they can become even more rich and evil. Once they do, the supply of eggs is higher, triggering competition between the greedy supermarkets to sell their eggs, which results in lower prices. This is how white supremicy and patriachy work.

If the saints in government use their riteous powers to block the rich and evil egg producers from making excess profit, the greedy bastards have no incentive to increase production. While it is good that fewer chickens will be tortured for the profits of evil white rich people, the supply of eggs will not increase and high egg prices will not give egg consumers reason to choose alternatives. There will be shortages. This means those first to the grocercy store in the morning will get all the eggs and those who get there later in the day will get none. This will disproportionately impact communities of color that may have beautiful traditions of starting their day later.

Of course the best option would be for government to take over all egg production, provide a better quality of life for the chickens, deliver eggs to communities of color free and first, and bill the evil rich people, but until that day, the white supremicy and patriachy of free markets is the best option.
