What the hell kind of protection gear do they even have against something like that?

My Dad was inventory control at AmChem in Ambler PA. Out of the entire plant, that was the only product that scared him.

No treatment available if you get it on you. Just make sure you're right with your maker.

I preferred pharma and refineries over nukes, mainly because the nukes were such a pain in the balls to get in/out.

Early in the shutdown they sent guys to the hospital daily, it was tragic. cant count how many times that entire job was shut down in the course of about eight weeks. you cant tell people enough how bad that shit can be.

Been in a lot of real bad places, been hurt a few times. Fell 20' spent a month in hospital and over my work life got exposed to radiation, asbestos and way too many nasty chemicals.

For many reasons I sure as shit do not miss the work, what I do miss is many of the people I worked with. Most of then were what we call "good people"

Did my share of plant work in all sort of safety conditions and weather.

At least for my last 10 years I worked in a fab shop. That kept me out of the worse of weather and very dangerous areas. With that said I believe that many of my ongoing medical issues are due to plant work.

You people that are still working be careful out there and I wish you the best!
