This week in Outer Banks
Drove up from Florida to Kill Devil Hills for the week. Looks like we picked a bad week. Calling for rain today, tonight, tomorrow and sporadic through the week. I had booked a fishing charter for Monday and the captain already canceled due to the weather forecast. Hoping to be able to salvage some golf rounds later in the week
When we lived in PA we used to come to the OB almost every year but this is our first time since about 2006. Unbelievable how much the place has been built up. Traffic is a freaking mess. |

Changed a lot since I lived in Hatteras back in the mid-70's. When I returned 30 years later the natural surroundings were just a skeleton of what it used to be. Used to be woods and now the trees are gone. Place looked like a desert wasteland compared to what I remember, wouldn't live there now.

Only going to get worse in time. Apple and Nike building mega sites in RTP. People will sell out, spend millions in RTP market for houses - and use extra to buy the banks…..
Maxed out price on old house last month and projections are in 2 years another 30% increase…. |

That’s a twice-yearly trip for us. We have always stayed somewhere on Hatteras Island. It’s still a good place to go.
