LDCM acting up... fix or replace? Cheapest option available?
Driver's side door control module is acting up more often now... used to be once in a blue moon. Is this something expensive that can be fixed by a 3rd party like the ECBM, or is it a non-repairable unit where the fix is replacement?
Is there any mechanism or part of the component that can be cleaned to allow it to lock/unlock the door properly? Thanks, Brian

Symptoms ??? I've had broken wires to act like bad modules too [ in the flex. boot] between chassis and door. Most door modules are sealed units but I'm not sure about C5. But...give us more specifics

I've not had to deal with them on my car, but I do know it's about a $100 part to replace. No programming to the car needed, just plug 'n play.
I believe the door control modules are little more than a few relays inside, and these are what crap out in them. This is pasted from a CF thread....It may help you. Quote:

The usual malfunction is the doors simply don't lock or unlock when commanded...that specific activity is not monitored by the BCM so there is no code to be triggered. There is no feedback loop unlike the infamous coulumn lock. Now that this topic has been brought up, come to think of it my pass door sometimes doesn't unlock when commanded. It may take me a 2-3 tries before it does. That would be typical of the unlock relay contacts failing within the RDCM. |

^ That exactly what happens, oh and it does trip codes... I get LCDM and RCDM codes when the locks don't work on the first try. They all eventually lock/unlock but don't always work when commanded.
When I install my mod-red door panels I'll tackle this isssue.
